Jesus Falls the Second Time
What happened to Simon of Cyrene?!? Was it just too painful for him to see Jesus so vulnerable, so broken? Was he somehow disappointed?
For Reflection
What we often fear the most is that others will see “who we really are” and decide that we are unworthy of their love, their presence. In moments of dark doubt, what old fears of abandonment have crowded back into your consciousness?
Action
Have a seat. You’ll notice a mirror hanging from the cross. Use it to see your own reflection. Look into your eyes. Remember you are a beloved child of god. Take a verse from Psalm 139 to remember how deeply we are known and loved by God.
