I am posting this short reflection with an invitation to take a few minutes to listen to where we are as a community. To help us all regather ourselves in this fall, I am inviting us all to “come back to church” not just in the sense of the building or programs or patterns of our lives, but to “come back to church” in terms of an awareness of who we are in our deepest hearts: the beloved of God called together to worship and share compassion in this world.
I am also inviting you to share with me in a special Parish Meeting on Sunday, September 11 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Parish Hall. Before we step more fully into this fall’s stewardship season, I think it’s important to be very clear about where we are as a spiritual community: how have expectations shifted? How have the demands of our pastoral life grown? What new spaces and opportunities are we called to explore? What questions do you have?
Above all, be well. May we all make it a point to cultivate a disciplined practice of faith in the world today.
Blessings to you all!
Stuart
