Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 13. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead an hour!
Prayer and Parchment is a monthly space that explores our practice of prayer and texts and resources that we have found meaningful in our lives. This conversation is open to anyone who is wondering how our practice of faith helps us make sense of the circumstances of our lives. How does the way we pray shape the way we live in the world? What conversation partners have we found particularly meaningful as we navigate the stresses of life? How can we name our deeper yearnings for healing and wholeness? Join us on Zoom on the second Sunday each month at 6:00 PM. Our next meeting is March 13.
This spring, the group continues to explore healing images of God as we look toward diverse and holistic ways of envisioning God’s presence in our lives. We began with China Galland’s insightful book Longing for Darkness: Tara and the Black Madonna, which invited us to delve more deeply into the rich images of the Divine Feminine. From there, we looked at Bishop Steven Charleston’s phenomenal reflection Ladder to the Light, which offered a meditation on spiritual growth through the lens of native spirituality. Now, we look toward Matthew Fox’s writings on masculine images of God, and we hope to turn our eyes toward Barbara Holmes’ work soon.
But, we should be clear that this group is not just a book group; rather, we have named ourselves Prayer and Parchment as a way of reminding us that the core of our reflection focuses on our practice of prayer, even as we look toward various texts and conversation partners for helpful wisdom.
It is never too late to join the conversation. All you need is an open heart and a bit of curiosity. The Spirit will take it from there.

We are looking around the corner at Easter! (It’s still Lent, so keep it quiet). This year, we have had to shift our planning a bit for the brunch because of staffing shortages. We have a caterer coming with fantastic food, but we need a group of people to work with our Participation Ministries to set up and clean up. We’re hoping that some from the wider parish might be able to help! If you would be willing, please email Fr. Stuart and the office will be in touch with details.
Look ahead to upcoming opportunities for prayer, worship, and community!
