As our choir continues to prepare for their upcoming residency at Exeter Cathedral in August, we will take advantage of their planning to share in a special Choral Eucharist this Sunday, June 9, at 4:00 PM.
The service will give us an opportunity to experience even more sung responses, with the choir leading special music throughout. So, please know that we will have three services on June 9, should you want to explore this incredibly beautiful time of worship.
We want to be sure to have enough hot dogs, BINGO cards, and prizes for our upcoming BINGO night, so please let us know by Sunday, June 9 if you plan to attend!
We hope you plan to join us at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, June 12 for a potluck picnic dinner and a night filled with laughter and silly prizes. Do you remember what a Blackout is? Coverall? Four Corners? Free Space? No problem if you don’t…we’ll figure it out together! All ages welcome.
Grace will provide hot dogs and drinks. Please bring a “picnic” themed side or dessert to share.
Prayer yoga classes will not meet on Monday, June 10 or Thursday, June 13.
DOK will not meet in June or July.
Yesterday, I was talking with someone who shared how anxious they are becoming as we step into the summer and look at the fall election season. On top of this, life is full of other stresses and so much uncertainty surrounds us. Even as this is the case, we reflected on how we are blessed to be able to share in an intentional Christian community at Grace, and we wondered how we might nurture this presence in our lives.
When I got home, I felt challenged to call every household at Grace, to ask one question: how can we pray for each other these days? What is on your heart? What is your spirit yearning for?
So, I will begin calling each household in the parish in July. There are around 460 homes with those who are members and those who are new to the parish. By my count, with ten calls a day, it will take me two months to reach everyone, and I will mix up the alphabetical last name, so W, X, Y, and Z will not go last!
I look forward to having a chance to talk with you and to pray with you.
Blessings,
Stuart
We will launch our bicentennial celebration in fall 2027 and it will last through Christmas of 2028, so it this will give us a wonderful space to give thanks to God for 200 years of shared ministry in this community. If you are interested in serving on the Bicentennial Celebration Committee, please email Fr. Stuart. He will begin gathering the group, with plans to have an initial meeting this fall.
Look ahead to upcoming opportunities for prayer, worship, and community!
