Join us for a special Sunday Forum, OUR LAST BEST ACT: Planning for the End of our Lives to Protect the People and Places We Love, on June 5 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM in the parish hall.
Mallory McDuff, PhD, went on a one-year journey to revise her final wishes with climate change and community in mind. She volunteered at a conservation burial ground, observed at a body farm, explored aquamation, and much more. In her new book, Our Last Best Act, she shares stories of her discoveries—from green burial to human composting—which revealed the importance of talking about matters of life, death, and Earth, especially with those we love.
The Cathedral Bookstore will have copies of Mallory’s book available.
Kids in rising PreK-5th grade are invited to join us June 21, 22, and 23 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM for VBS. This year’s theme is “Food Truck Party; On a Roll with God”. Kids will explore praying as Jesus taught us, “Give us this day our daily bread” and remember all the ways God provides for our needs.

A reminder that a Caregiver Support Group, sponsored by Alzheimer’s Association Georgia, meets at 5:30 PM in the Grace Church parlor on the first Tuesday of each month. The next meeting is June 7. Alzheimer’s Association® support groups, conducted by trained facilitators, are a safe place for people living with dementia and their care partners to: develop a support system, exchange practical information on challenges and possible solutions, talk through issues and ways of coping, share feelings, needs and concerns, and learn about community resources. The group is open to all. Contact Darlene Hauserman with questions.
It seems like forever we have had a group of folks known as chalice bearers who help with the Eucharist on Sundays, even though we are not now having the chalice, or the common cup, itself. In my heart, though, they are always chalice bearers, and their presence on Sunday mornings helps us all share in the heart of our common life: Holy Communion. I want to take a moment to thank this phenomenal group of souls for their dedication and nimbleness in strange days!
Chip Branch, Jo Brewer, Edith Collins, Joyce Dewey, Chris Emsley, Chaudron Gille, Daniel Grizzle, Rob Harris, Steve Hatch, Polly Jones, Marsha Kump, Del Mixon, Martha Nesbitt, Nancy Richardson, Ray Schuetze, Jason Voyles, Meredith West, and Bob Willis. Thank you all for sharing your gifts with this parish!
Blessings,
Stuart
