Recognizing the need we have to stay grounded in God’s presence, we have the opportunity this summer to take a fresh approach to our Sunday readings, prayers, and hymns, using a special lectionary cycle that highlights key texts in the Bible that celebrate God’s presence within creation. We will lay wonderful hymns alongside the readings, as well as special prayers, and use the eight-week timeframe from June 2 to July 21 to pay attention to how we are called to live more aware of God’s presence in the world we all share.
The focus for June 2 is:
God, the source and destiny of the cosmos
We will gather again for our ongoing Outreach conversation and planning on Sunday morning, June 2, at 9:30 AM in the Parish Hall. In this meeting, we will look at next steps with the formation of our focus teams, as well as explore some of our logistical planning.
We will launch our bicentennial celebration in fall 2027 and it will last through Christmas of 2028, so it this will give us a wonderful space to give thanks to God for 200 years of shared ministry in this community. If you are interested in serving on the Bicentennial Celebration Committee, please email Fr. Stuart. He will begin gathering the group, with plans to have an initial meeting this fall.
