The City of Gainesville (City Council Ward 3 representative Barbara Brooks), St. Paul United Methodist Church on Summit Street, Brenau University, Grace Episcopal Church, and Gainesville Parks and Recreation are partnering up to hold a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic. The first dose will be Saturday, June 26 from 8:00 AM – noon and the second on Saturday, July 24 from 8:00 AM – noon. The Moderna brand vaccines will be administered to those 18 and up at the Fair Street Neighborhood Center at 715 Fair Street in Gainesville.
Those interested in getting vaccinated are asked to RSVP by calling 770-654-1277 and leaving a voicemail with their name and telephone number so organizers can secure an appropriate number of vaccines to accommodate everyone.
Things here at Grace are starting to gradually look more and more like they did before COVID forced us all to make so many changes. As we shift back to our traditional worship service model, we need our ROTA volunteers to return to service and help us bring together the many pieces that make up a communion service.
If you have served on the ROTA in the past, please know that you should be receiving email communications from Jessica Voyles. Please look for those emails and read them carefully. We are shifting the way we organize the ROTA and are now using the Sign Up Genius platform. Sometimes change can be challenging, but we believe that, ultimately, using Sign Up Genius will make organizing ROTA easier. This program is designed to be user-friendly and to help organize large numbers of volunteers. If you have questions or need help with Sign Up Genius please don’t hesitate to email Jessica.
To all who serve now and to those who plan to serve moving forward, please know we are very grateful for your time.
A pick-up choir will help lead Sunday worship every week June-August. Please email Will Gotmer for more information if you are interested in participating. Rehearsals will be held Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM. Previous choir participation is not necessary.
Mark your calendars for our annual Day in the Mountains & Picnic Lunch at Vogel State Park in Blairsville on Saturday, July 31. Since 2004 Grace Church has gathered at the end of the summer to enjoy the cooler mountain air next to Trahlyta Lake for lunch, fellowship, and outdoor fun. Located at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest, with an elevation of 2,500 feet, Vogel is a great spot to spend a hot summer day.
Complete details can be found here and please let Jeremy Landers know if you are coming by Sunday, July 25. Hope to see you at Vogel!
