The next Gathering will be held Sunday, August 18 from 5:00-7:00 PM at INK, Interactive Neighborhood for Kids (999 Chestnut Street, Gainesville). We’ll continue our conversations about different contemplative voices and how they inform our daily lives. This month we will hear from members of our own community and about their influential conversation partners. Jeff Jones will discuss his explorations of Our Universe; Polly Jones and Nancy Carvell will share about the ethical implications of our food choices; and Cheryl Kelley will talk about the connections between creativity and spirituality. Come join the conversation!
The Gathering Reading List: There is now a shelf in the library at Grace (located in the conference room) with a copy of the books we’re reading for the Gathering. Please feel free to check one out if it sparks your curiosity.
All Grace Church adults, and middle through high school youth, are invited to join our summer pick-up choir every (or any) Sunday in August. No experience or previous choir participation is necessary. Meet in the nave at 10:00 AM to rehearse a simple anthem and look at the hymns and service music for the morning.
Our COG preschool will gather for their Opening Day Liturgy on Monday, August 19 at 8:30 AM in the Nave. They will begin the new school year with songs and prayers to bless the teachers, students, and their families. Welcome back and have an awesome year!
