Our next meeting of the Soul Work Book Club will be on Sunday, March 23 at 7 pm on Zoom. We will spend this March meeting focusing again on John Philip Newell’s book The Great Search, so if you didn’t have a chance to finish it, no worries! We will look again at this book, paying attention to which particular chapters and figures resonate with us.
Looking ahead, we will then meet Sunday, April 27. Our next book will be John O’Donohue’s fantastic piece The Four Elements: Reflections on Nature. This book will give us an opportunity to reflect on how we understand our embodied lives, and it may also serve as a primer for the Lenten retreat at Linwood Nature Preserve on Saturday, April 5.
The Friends of Music Annual Gifts Campaign continues through Easter Sunday, April 20. Our goal for the 2025 AGC is $35,000. To date we have received a total of $19,200 in pledges and $13,150 received gifts. Thank you for your gift and ongoing support of our concert series and music ministry.
If you haven’t been able to make a gift or pledge there are three ways to do that:
Thank you for your generosity,
Lynn Swanson, Music Director & Organist
Beautiful flowers and greenery enhance our celebration of The Resurrection at Grace Church, and you can help make that celebration special. Contributions to our Easter flower fund may be made in thanksgiving for or in memory of loved ones, friends and family. Notice of your donation will be included in the worship bulletins for The Great Vigil and Easter Day.
If you would like to make an offering, please submit both the online form and your donation on or before 9:00 AM on Monday, April 14.
As we journey through this sacred season of Lent, we are reminded of Christ’s ultimate offering and are invited to reflect on how we, too, can offer ourselves in service to God and one another. Lent is a time of renewal, reflection, and action—an opportunity to open our hearts and hands in love and service.
As part of this season, we are inviting everyone in our church family to complete a brief questionnaire. This simple survey is designed to help us better understand your unique experiences, skills, and hopes for being involved in our church community. Your input will guide us in recognizing the needs of our congregation and identifying areas where we can grow together in faith and service.
We encourage you to take a few moments to prayerfully complete the questionnaire. Together, let’s discern how God is calling each of us to serve during this season and beyond. Your gifts make a difference!
Thank you for being a part of what God is doing in our church.
“The word is near you, on your lips, and in your heart.” Romans 10:8
Blessings,
Kimberley Boyd, Junior Warden
Lent offers us a time for intentional focus as we reflect on how we live in the world. Do we live consciously or unconsciously? How do we live in our bodies? How do we live together on this planet?
On Saturday, April 5, we will gather for a retreat day at the Linwood Nature Preserve in Gainesville to focus our attention on what it means to live an embodied life. We will consider our community, church, and personal relationship “to this earth our island home.” How can we better live our baptismal covenant within the whole of God’s good creation?
We are grateful to welcome Brian Sellers-Petersen as our retreat leader! Learn more about Brian, get retreat details, and register at the link below.
