Sunday Mornings

Grace Church parking lots are located off Brenau Ave. next to the parish office and at the corner of Brenau Ave. and Boulevard. Free street parking is also available in the area. Please enter through the main entrance located on Boulevard or through the St. Francis garden doors off the parking lot at the corner of Brenau Avenue and Boulevard.

Additional information and maps are located on the Contact Us page.

The nursery is located in the children’s education wing and is available to all children age 4 and under. The nursery is open on Sunday mornings from 8:00 AM until noon, during both worship services and the Christian Education hour.

Christian Education (Sunday School) is offered for children age PreK – 5th grade on Sundays during the church school year from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. The church school year generally runs from mid-August to mid-May. Learn more about Children’s Formation at Grace.

Children, ages 3 (by September 1) to kindergarten, are invited to participate in Children’s Chapel each Sunday during the 10:45 a.m. service. Children’s Chapel is an opportunity for little ones to learn to about worship and helps them make the transition to “big” Church. Children begin the service in the Nave with their families before being blessed and released to Children’s Chapel. They rejoin their families in the main service at the Presentation.

All baptized Christians, including children, are welcome to take Communion in the Episcopal Church.

To receive, please proceed up the center aisle, when your pew is directed to do so by an usher, and fill around the altar from the back to the front. If you do not wish to receive the consecrated bread and/or wine, simply cross your arms over your chest. We will offer a blessing for you as we share in Holy Communion. You may stand or kneel at the altar rail. Please return to your seat by the side aisles.

If you are not baptized and would like to explore Holy Baptism, please speak to one of the clergy after the service.  We would be honored to share a conversation with you!

Compassion

Names can be added to our prayer list via the online form. The names are remembered aloud in our prayers for three weeks, in the case of illness, and mentioned once, in the case of death. Long term prayer requests are sent to the Daughters of the King.

Grace clergy have “Open Doors” and are always open to meetings with individuals, couples, or families. Because they value your time and want to be free from distractions, the most effective way to schedule a meeting is to call the office at 770-536-0126. For non-emergencies, clergy are available for appointments Sunday through Thursday. Their Sabbath and family time is Friday and Saturday.

In emergency situations (sudden hospitalizations, injuries, etc.) the clergy can be reached on their cell phones (Stuart: 404-788-9365; Cynthia: 703-888-7263). The most effective way to reach them is to text them. Please include your name in the text so that they know to whom they are responding.

The clergy have access to funds to assist parishioners directly during a financial crisis. This assistance is strictly confidential and is handled on a case by case basis.

Financial assistance for persons outside the parish is handled through the several agencies that Grace Church supports in Hall County. Information about these various agencies is available at our Information/Reception Desk Monday through Thursday from 10:00 to 4:00 or by contacting the Hall County United Way Compass Center.

Participation

Online sign up forms are usually integrated onto the webpage for each event. Occasionally an event will have a paper sign-up sheet, located at the information station in the connector corridor.

If you have suggestions for programs that will help you and others grow in faith and Christian commitment, please contact one of the clergy to discuss the possibilities. Many groups/projects have emerged this way. The clergy and staff welcomes your ideas and participation!

Joining the church can be done through baptism, confirmation, or transfer of membership from another parish or another denomination. Learn more about how to join Grace.

Administrative

To schedule a church meeting or event contact the Director of Communication. To make sure you are able to reserve the day, time, and location you need, give the church as much advance notice as possible.

Information about how to schedule community events at the church can be found on the Facility Use page of this website.

Grace Church members can make changes to their own contact information through Access ACS, our online parish member directory. Please contact Reba Page with questions.

Communication

Our mass email distribution lists are self-subscribe and completely separate from our internal parish database. The parish office will not add addresses to the list. This ensures that we only send mass emails to people who wish to receive them.

The email list is divided into several sub-lists that allow us to target information according to your interests. If you wish to receive the newsletter, click here to join our email list and be sure to select Parish Newsletter – The Evangelist.

Submit information for the newsletter by contacting the director of communication by phone 770-536-0126 or by email. The deadline is 9:00 AM every Monday.

Open any Grace Church email and click the link that says “Update Profile/Email Address” at the bottom. You should then receive an email with a link to your registration page, where you will be able to edit your email address and areas of interest. If you no longer have access to your old emails, use the link on our website to sign up again with your new email address.

Click the button that says “SafeUnsubscribe” at the bottom of any email you have received from Grace Church. This will open a page where you can remove your email address from specific interest lists (i.e. no longer wish to receive the newsletter by email but want to stay on the Parish Wide email list) or opt-out of receiving all future communications. Once your opt-out choices have been made, you are automatically removed from the chosen lists.

If you unsubscribe to all of the mailing lists, you will be added to the ‘Do Not Mail’ list and Grace Church will no longer be able to send you emails through the list. Please note however, that unsubscribing from the email list will not prevent the parish office from being able to email you individually should the need arise, provided we also have your email address in our regular parish database. The information we have on file in the internal parish database is completely separate from the external email list.
