Grace Episcopal Church, in collaboration with Cherokee Bluff Theatre, is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting summer Performing Arts Camp for rising 3rd to 8th graders. The camp will run in two sessions from June 16-20 and June 23-28 at Grace Episcopal Church, culminating in live performances at Brenau University’s historic Pearce Auditorium on June 27-28. The camp will showcase a student production of the beloved musical Matilda Jr., based on Roald Dahl’s classic story.
This unique program offers a dynamic, hands-on experience for young performers interested in the arts, combining professional-level musical theater training with a focus on personal growth and spiritual formation. Participants will have the opportunity to learn choreography, acting, and singing from experienced instructors at Cherokee Bluff Theatre, all while exploring creativity and teamwork in a nurturing, faith-centered environment.
The camp will also include activities beyond the stage, such as arts and crafts, as well as spiritual formation to inspire and uplift participants. The camp’s holistic approach will offer a well-rounded experience, encouraging confidence, creativity, and community spirit.

Guided by our BEAR values—Be Innovative, Every Person’s Story Matters, Act with Integrity, Respectful and Responsible, and Serve Your Community—we create a supportive, inclusive environment that fosters self-confidence, communication, leadership, and teamwork, preparing students to succeed both on stage and in life.
Grace Episcopal Church is committed to fostering a nurturing, vibrant community where faith, creativity, and fellowship intersect. We desire to bring people together in spiritual imagination and inspire them to live out their faith in meaningful ways. The people of Grace take seriously our mission that we are “empowered by the Holy Spirit to support each other through prayer, formation, worship, and service.”
“This collaboration between Grace Episcopal Church and Cherokee Bluff Theatre is a wonderful opportunity to combine the arts with personal and spiritual development,” said The Rev. Dr. Brandon Nonnemaker, Associate Rector for Children, Youth, and Families at Grace Episcopal Church.
“We’re excited to give young people a chance to shine on stage while building friendships, nurturing their gifts and talents, and growing their whole person.”
