Fellowship Gathering

At the annual meeting last Sunday, our new Junior Warden Kimmey Boyd challenged us all to show up and be present, to give of our time, talents, and love to create a stronger community. Our upcoming fellowship night is a great opportunity to do just that!

Come share an evening at NoFo Brew Co in Gainesville (434 High St SW) on Thursday, February 13 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Family Promise

Family Promise is in need of some items to help keep the pantry stocked! Click here for the list. Groceries can be taken directly to Family Promise at 3606 McEver Rd, Oakwood, brought to the Grace Center kitchen Monday – Thursday from 10 AM – 4 PM, or left in the Greeting Area on Sunday. If you bring items to Grace please make sure they are clearly marked for Family Promise. Please donate items by Sunday, March 2.

Christian Education

CE classes meet from 9:30 – 10:30 AM most Sundays until May 4. Exceptions are February 16, April 6, April 13, and April 20.

Preparing for the Ministry Fair

The Ministry Fair scheduled for February 23 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM will give us an opportunity to see the broad spectrum of life at Grace Episcopal Church. If your group would like to reserve a space to share information about the faithful work you are doing in this community, please email Fr. Stuart by Monday, February 17.

COG is Kindness Certified

COG believes deeply that kindness matters! We love sharing with our students how to lead with a servant’s heart through our actions – creating a culture of kindness at school, in our homes, and in the community. COG joins more than 21 million students and over 43 thousand schools in over 135 countries in the annual Great Kindness Challenge.

Last week staff, students, and families worked together to complete as many acts of kindness as we could, including painting hearts on the windows to remind us that our hallways are full of love. COG is proud to be a “Kindness Certified School” for the third year in a row!

Soul Work Book Club Begins February 23

You are invited to share in the upcoming conversation as we launch the Soul Work Book Club at Grace!

We will gather, via Zoom, on Sunday evening, February 23 at 7 PM. Our first book is The Great Search: Turning to Earth and Soul in the Quest for Healing and Home. Go ahead and read the book, and we will set up conversation points during our time together.

An Evening with Laura Rives

Join us Wednesday, February 26 for an exciting evening with Laura Rives as she shares stories and pictures from her incredible trek to Everest Base Camp! After a year of preparation, Laura embarked on this journey of a lifetime last October. Come hear about the highs, the lows, and the unforgettable moments she experienced along the way.

We’ll gather in the parish hall at 6:00 PM. Please bring your own beverage and an appetizer to share.

Pancake Supper BINGO

The youth of Grace cordially invite all to the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper in the parish hall from 6:00 – 7:30 PM on Tuesday, March 4. This year we will also be playing BINGO!

The youth will be setting up, welcoming, serving, and cleaning up afterwards and a team of adults has volunteered to do the cooking. This annual fundraiser helps support our youth program and pilgrimage, so tips will be welcomed and much appreciated!

Reservations are required. Cost is: free for children age 5 and under, $5 for children and youth age 6-18, and $10 for adults. Submit the online form no later than Thursday, February 27 to reserve your place (and so we have a count prior to purchasing supplies).

There is no nursery offered during the pancake supper – the whole family is invited!

So, join us for this party with plenty of butter and fat and sugar (and you are welcome to bring a bottle of wine to share with your table!) before you put it all away on Wednesday morning to begin your Lenten devotion.
