Dear People of Grace,
Our hearts continue to hurt as we get greater clarity around the damage done from Hurricane Helene, all the way from Florida into Georgia, South and North Carolina, and into Tennessee and beyond. So many have lost so much, and we always look for ways to reach out in support and care.
This link will take you to the Hurricane Relief donation page for Episcopal Relief and Development, which is the primary support site for The Episcopal Church. ERD supports needs throughout the world, and now this is a streamlined mechanism for hurricane recovery.
We will continue to watch for updates from friends and colleagues throughout the Southeastern region, and we give thanks for the way the wider community listens for the Spirit’s call in very difficult times.
Blessings,
Stuart

On Sunday, October 20, we will have a Tenor-Bass Chorale for the 10:45 AM service. This project ensemble is open to any tenor-bass in the parish and only requires a couple of rehearsals.
We’ll be singing the 2 spirituals King Jesus Is A Listenin’ and Standing in the Need of Prayer. They are not difficult and the parish choir men will be on hand to help!
If you want to sing and can attend 2 of these 3 rehearsals, please email Director of Music Lynn Swanson.

Each year, the parish community makes a commitment to live into God’s call for our lives, and we embody this participation in our operating budget.
This year, our theme is “Behold Who You Are,” a beautiful reminder from the liturgy of the Eucharist: “Behold who you are, the body of Christ. May we become what we receive.” This serves as an invitation for us to reflect on how we are called to embody Christ’s presence in the world.
Pledge cards have been mailed to member households and are available at the church. You also have the option to submit your pledge for 2025 online at the link below.
Montreat Conference Center in Montreat, NC sustained damage during Hurricane Helene. With the immediate focus on repairs and recovery, it may take some time for them to communicate plans for scheduled retreats and conferences. Please keep Montreat in your prayers as we await clarification regarding our January Women’s Retreat.
If you plan to join Fr. Stuart on the pilgrimage to Greece, we need to know by October 16.
Look ahead to upcoming opportunities for prayer, worship, and community!
