Register by this Sunday, June 16, to attend our three-day intergenerational Vacation Bible School! Rising kindergarteners through adults (must be able to walk long distances on uneven terrain without assistance) are invited to join us for Creation Camp!
We will meet June 25, 26, and 27 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Campers will need to bring a bag each day with a packed lunch, water bottle, beach towel or light blanket to sit on, sunscreen, bug spray, EpiPens, etc. Church will provide snacks and drinks. Fr. Brandon will send a detailed email to all who have registered before the first day, to make sure everyone has the information they need—and to include cell phone numbers for contact.
All women of the parish are invited to a book study from 6:00 – 7:00 PM on the following Wednesday evenings:
June 19 at Kimberley Boyd’s home
July 17 at Carla Kantola’s home
Aug 14 at Julie Rossi’s home
Sept 11 at Liz Mattingly’s home
Please see the member directory or contact Dr. Cynthia Park for addresses.
We’ll be reading and discussing Becca Stevens’ book, Practically Divine.
“Practically Divine teaches you to use your senses to transform information into holy compassion. When we open our hearts to it, we can experience the divine anywhere – like sacred breadcrumbs marking our path.”
from a review of the book by Harper Horizon

You may have read in last week’s newsletter that Fr. Stuart plans to call every Grace Church household this summer, just to check in and see how everyone is doing! We are blessed to be able to share in an intentional Christian community at Grace, and he wondered how we might nurture this presence in our lives.
There are around 460 homes in our church database, and his goal is about 10 calls a day so it will take a couple of months. He’s also mixing up the alphabetical order so W, X, Y, and Z will not go last! We do want to note that, if you don’t receive a phone call by the end of the summer, you may not be in our data base or your information may be incorrect.
Altar flowers enhance the beauty of our Sunday services at Grace Church. Donations to the altar flower fund can be given in memory of or in thanksgiving for family members, friends and loved ones. Notice of your donation will be printed in the church newsletter and the Sunday service bulletin.
Fill out the online form to give flowers and select a Sunday for the recognition.
For many years now, the brick wall there in the lower foyer has held the donation plaques for those who have contributed to past campaigns. Looking at these next few years, I wondered with the vestry about how we could invite the parish to imagine a space to celebrate our bicentennial—perhaps with a featured work of art or a rotation of art. With their help, I have asked the design team to move the framed list of names to the main hallway next to the cabinet that houses other historical artifacts from Grace’s life. Now, that hallway area can really be a space to remember a fuller scope of Grace’s history.
I invite the entire parish to begin imagining ways to use that featured brick wall to celebrate our life as a parish community. If you have any ideas or thoughts, please send them to me and I will work with the Bicentennial Celebration Committee (which you can join as well!) and the vestry as we continue planning this time of celebration.
Blessings,
Stuart
