The Rev. Dr. Nonnemaker will hold Orientation and Registration for children and youth this Sunday, August 20, at 9:30 AM. Come meet the teachers, see the classrooms, and get registered for the formation year!
Our third week of the August Forum, at 9:30 AM on Sunday, August 20, will present our community partners, Alliance for Literacy, Rape Response, and Center Point. Many of you will recognize these names because of their joint fund raiser, Dancing for a Cause. Come learn more about these organizations and what they do to help our community. You may be surprised to see members of Grace participating in this fun fundraiser!
Children’s Chapel has resumed and all children, ages 3 (by September 1) through kindergarten, are invited to participate. Children begin the 10:45 AM service in the Nave with their families before being blessed and released to their own space. Using music and Montessori-style lessons, children learn about our liturgical cycle, explore the elements of worship, and learn basic Bible stories. The children rejoin their families in the main service at the Peace.
Please note there is no Children’s Chapel on September 3.
For 50 years your church has been donating time, talent, and treasure to the Gainesville-Hall Community Food Pantry and providing food to neighbors in need. Food insecurity is growing in our community, and many children, adults, and older adults rely on our pantry’s food. We serve approximately 120 families each month. We cannot do this without you, and we’d like to say thank you!
On August 20 from 2:00-4:00, you are invited to come to the pantry, see how we operate, look at the current inventory of food, meet our board, and spend time with like-minded individuals from all of the five churches involved in our pantry. Light refreshments will be provided. The food pantry is located at 615 Oak Street in Gainesville. We hope to see you there.
We’ll officially kick off the new program year on Sunday, September 10! Christian Education classes for children (Godly Play and Whirl), youth (EYC@GEC), and adults (Forum and Parenting with Grace) will meet from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.
A weekday Bible Study with the Rev. Dr. Park will begin on Monday, September 18 at 10:30 AM. Using a variety of different lenses and resources, we will explore our sacred texts.
The interior of The Grace Center is currently accessible via the connector corridor from the main campus. Some parking is available in the lot next to the Grace Center, but you may need to walk down the sidewalk and enter the building through the St. Francis Garden.
Parish Office
The “front desk” of the parish office is located in the greeting area. If you need to visit the office please enter the building through the St. Francis Garden.
