Join us for Evensong at Grace Church on Sunday, March 19 at 4:00 PM. Sung at the close of day in Cathedrals and churches all over the world, Choral Evensong focuses on the ancient practice of singing evening prayers. The congregation listens, joins in the hymns, and adds their own prayers to those of the choir.
Evensong will also be livestreamed on our website and Facebook page.
The Grace Church parish choir will offer several evensongs over the coming liturgical seasons in preparation for their residency at Cathedral Church of St. Peter in Exeter, England from August 5-11, 2024.
Beautiful flowers and greenery enhance our celebration of The Resurrection at Grace Church, and you can help make that celebration special. Contributions to our Easter flower fund may be made in thanksgiving for or in memory of loved ones, friends and family. Notice of your donation will be included in the worship bulletins for The Great Vigil and Easter Day.
If you would like to make an offering, please submit both the online form and your donation on or before Thursday, March 30.
The T3 men’s group will meet at Tap It (110 Maple Street, Gainesville) at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 21. Bring ideas for discussion topics that interest you, and join us for some more pub theology. And see this week’s issue of the parish newsletter for information about a Men’s Ministry event on April 18.
We were doing a little spring cleaning in the office work room and came across a big box of car tags we had forgotten we had! If you’d like one or two, please help yourself. A stack is located on the information table in the connector corridor and more are available if those run out. Put one on the front of your car or use them for a craft project!
As we step fully into Lent this year, we always remember that Holy Week is just on the horizon. While we are fully soaked in this season of prayer and intentional practice, we are keeping a sliver of one eye open to plan a bit for Easter. This year, I want to invite anyone who wishes to share in a special Easter Egg project. If you will, simply fill one to two dozen plastic Easter Eggs with special treats or prizes and bring them to the church office before Wednesday, March 29. This will give us time to prepare for the Easter Egg hunt after the 10:45 AM service on Sunday, April 9.
I will be working to stuff at least two dozen eggs myself with chocolates and special treats. I’m not telling what I’m stuffing them with, but those who find them will be lucky indeed!
If you have any questions, please contact Amanda McMillion.
Blessings,
Stuart
