Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 12. If you still have clocks in your home that need to be manually adjusted, don’t forget to set them forward one hour before you go to bed on Saturday!
Youth will be putting together bagged lunches for Good News at Noon to hand out to the unhoused population in Gainesville. Join us in the youth room after the 10:45 AM service on Sunday, March 12. Lunch will be provided.
Anyone with an interest in music at Grace is invited to the Friends of Music organization meeting on Sunday, March 12 following the 10:45 AM service in the parish hall. A budget for the upcoming season will be presented along with a template for scheduling artists for upcoming seasons. We will also discuss the spring gifts campaign and the Parish Choir Tour to Exeter Cathedral (2024). We really hope you are able to be there for the important work that we do in our parish and throughout our community.
As we step fully into Lent this year, we always remember that Holy Week is just on the horizon. While we are fully soaked in this season of prayer and intentional practice, we are keeping a sliver of one eye open to plan a bit for Easter. This year, I want to invite anyone who wishes to share in a special Easter Egg project. If you will, simply fill one to two dozen plastic Easter Eggs with special treats or prizes and bring them to the church office before Wednesday, March 29. This will give us time to prepare for the Easter Egg hunt after the 10:45 AM service on Sunday, April 9.
I will be working to stuff at least two dozen eggs myself with chocolates and special treats. I’m not telling what I’m stuffing them with, but those who find them will be lucky indeed!
If you have any questions, please contact Amanda McMillion.
Blessings,
Stuart
Diapers can cost up to $100 per month, and babies need six to ten diapers per day. Despite the expense and need, no direct government assistance is available for diapers. Consequently, one in three mothers in the U.S. struggles to provide her child with clean diapers.
The Diaper Bank of North Georgia and the Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County are hosting a diaper drive and COG is a donation site. If you’d like to help, a drop box is located in the COG preschool hallway, or bring your donation to the parish office Monday – Thursday from 10 AM – 4 PM until March 17. Disposable diapers of all sizes and brands, opened and new packages, are appreciated. Sizes 4, 5, and 6 are the most needed.
Look ahead to upcoming opportunities for prayer, worship, and community!
