Bible Study
Like Shakespeare and Freud, the Bible is something many people claim familiarity with, but are embarrassed to admit that they aren’t sure how to navigate. On September 25 we will begin a introductory series to the Bible. There will be a total of four class segments. The first four-week segment (9/25; 10/2; 10/9; 10/16) will focus on how we arrived at what we call The Bible – the original documents, authenticating them, translating them, vetting them, and finally canonizing them. You can learn more about subsequent class segments on our website. Bring a Bible, a journal, and an open heart and mind!
The Bible Study, facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Park, will meet at 9:30 AM on Sundays in the chapel.
Bible StudyNewcomer Class
This class will be a basic introductory conversation around the history of The Episcopal Church, liturgy and worship, pastoral life, and the richness of prayer. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Grace Church in particular (if you are coming from another Episcopal Church) or to “translate” your own spiritual background into this new spiritual community (if you are coming from another denomination, etc.). We will also prepare for a special service of Confirmation/Reception on Sunday, November 6.
The Newcomer Class, facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Higginbotham, will meet at 9:30 AM on Sundays in the parish hall.
Newcomer ClassServices and most events at Grace Church are open to all who wish to attend, but we do make extra effort to invite the wider community to select events that may be of particular interest.
We currently have Facebook “events” set up for our October 2 Blessing of Animals, the October 5 Art & Spirit event, and the October 23 organ concert by Brian Parks. If you have a Facebook account, please help us spread the word by sharing one or more of these events on your timeline!
Our parish member directory is now available online! Access ACS is available to Grace members through a secure log in with a username and password. After creating your account, you’ll be able to see directory information for other members, as well as make changes to your own profile.
Look ahead to upcoming opportunities for prayer, worship, and community!
