Kinnara returns to Grace Church on Sunday, January 16 at 6:00 PM! Concert admission is free; doors open at 5:30 PM. Please note that Grace Church asks everyone to wear masks when gathered in groups in the building. The performance will also be streamed live on our website.
Before heading to the church on Sunday evening, please check our website or the Kinnara Facebook event page for any weather related updates.
The current weather forecast for Sunday, January 16 indicates the possibility of snow and freezing rain, with a high of 32 degrees. While we are still a couple days out, we are making plans to shift morning worship services to an online only platform should we determine that the weather will prevent us from safely gathering. Please be sure to watch your email and our website and Facebook page on Saturday for announcements about any changes. Be safe in these days.

The Men’s Ministry at Grace Church is initiating “T3” (thirsty third Tuesday) at Tap It, 110 Maple Street, Gainesville (just off the square) on Tuesday, January 18 from 7 until 8:30 PM. We will be following a format called “Pub Theology”, developed by Bryan Berghoef.
The people who choose to engage will ultimately decide the direction that the group takes, and how often it meets. While an RSVP is not required it would be helpful to have an idea of the number of possible attendees in order to arrange seating. If you think you might be there, please let us know via the online form.
The parish office will be closed on Monday, January 17.
There will be no nursery this Sunday, January 16 and children’s chapel will not meet.
Prayer yoga classes will not meet on Monday, January 17.
Voting for the 2022 vestry election has begun and all ballots must be returned by Wednesday, February 2. We will announce the four new vestry members at the Annual Meeting on Sunday, February 6. The eight nominees are: Nate Early, Julia Greene, Rob Jaeger, Beth Neidenbach, Sally Pittman, Nancy Richardson, Frank Rinker, and Stephanie Wells. You can learn more about them in the parish newsletter.
As for voting, we trust the community to adhere to the parish bylaws (section 3.4.5), which state that “All members who are confirmed communicants not less than sixteen (16) years of age shall be qualified to vote. It shall be acceptable to publish this qualification requirement and ask each participant to self-certify entitlement to vote.” Each member of Grace Church who meets those qualifications is entitled to return one ballot.
Ballots will be available at church on Sunday mornings, January 9, 16, 23, and 30, or in the parish office Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. If you would like a ballot sent to you, please email Fr. Stuart asap and we will drop one in the mail. An online ballot is also available, see your newsletter for details.
Look ahead to upcoming opportunities for prayer, worship, and community!
