News for March 14-20

Worship in the Nave!

Hopefully you’ve seen the exciting news regarding updated diocesan guidelines that now allow in person, indoor worship! We are so thankful for the declining positive test rate and increasing vaccination rate that makes this possible.

Plans that were previously put in place for Holy Week and Easter at Grace Church are in the process of being adjusted. Look for details (by email or on this website) on Monday, March 15 detailing the new schedule and information about how to register for outdoor and indoor in-person worship opportunities. And rest assured that our virtual worship services are not going away anytime soon!

We are working to create and maintain worship options for parishioners who find themselves at a variety of different comfort levels with in-person gatherings during this stage of the pandemic.

So watch your email or this website on Monday for all the details!

Daylight Saving Time

Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 14. Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed Saturday night!

An Easter Photo Request

I recently came across two old photos: One of myself as a shepherd at almost five years old in the 1981 Grace Christmas Pageant, in the old church. The second an Easter photo of myself with my brother and sister a couple years later, my brother and I are wearing crosses that my dad made with our Sunday School classes. These two photos and an idea Cynthia had for Palm Sunday gave me a thought for Easter Sunday.

As we move through this season of Lent, and another Easter apart, we find ourselves looking for creative ways to engage viewers through our online platform. Since we are still unable to be fully together for our usual Easter Sunday services, we would like to include Easter photos from you, whether they were made here on campus, in your yard at home, recently or long ago. Maybe even take a special photo of your family just for this year. We will incorporate these images into our Easter Sunday video processional. Please note that people in the photo will not be identified.

During this time when our gatherings feel limited, memories of years past help remind us the future is just around the corner, something to look forward to, and a time when we can all be here together.

Jeremy Landers

Please submit your digital images online at the link below no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 23. Photos received after the deadline may not appear in the Easter Sunday video processional but will still be shared on our social media. If you need us to scan a print, please contact Jeremy Landers to arrange a time to meet.

Lenten Study Continues

The Lenten study, Are We There Yet? Learning to Recognize the Process of Spiritual Maturation, continues this Tuesday, March 16, at 5:00 PM. The study is facilitated by Cheryl Kelley on Zoom. Join us as we seek to understand the spiritual needs of individuals at different stages of life in order to cultivate compassion and awareness for ourselves and others.

Easter Flowers

Beautiful flowers and greenery enhance our celebration of The Resurrection at Grace Church, and you can help make that celebration special. Contributions to our Easter flower fund may be made in thanksgiving for or in memory of loved ones, friends and family. Notice of your donation will be included in the worship bulletin on Easter Sunday.

If you would like to make an offering, please submit both the online form and your donation on or before Wednesday, March 24.
