During this year’s annual stewardship campaign, we are exploring the image of vision. What do we see? What are our blind spots? How is our perspective broadened as a spiritual community as we catch glimpses of God’s grace among us and within us?
To help imagine this reality, I am taking folks into different places around our campus to explore how each and every person helps nurture this community we all share.
This week, Cynthia, Will, and I head to the pipe chamber above the choir loft. You may not even know this space exists! I wanted to see if this metaphor worked for us: that the visual image of these thousands of pipes (almost 3,000, Will says) is actually a wonderful way to imagine our parish community. Each and every person in the parish is like a pipe that, together, creates beautiful music in this sacred space. Each pipe makes a sound that then weaves with all the rest to create harmony and beauty.
Perhaps this week we can meditate on this image a bit and wonder how God is calling us all to share in this incredible community.
God bless!
Stuart
