Program Parishioners of all ages are invited to join us following dinner on September 11 and 18 to learn the practice of internalizing a favorite Bible passage. For the past thirteen years, Dr. Park has participated in the research and development of the field of Biblical Performance Criticism through the International Network of Biblical Storytellers. Join us to experience firsthand the dynamic differences in hearing the text told rather than reading it silently. Learn the skills you can use to commit to heart a favorite passage to share with others.

Movie Night

Grace adults gather each month in the Youth Room to watch and discuss movies old and new addressing a wide variety of subjects. A very casual occasion, participants often bring a little food and drink to share. We always have a good time and lively discussion – join us at 7:00 PM on Friday, September 13.

Annual Women’s Retreat

Registration is now open for our annual women’s retreat! Join us for a weekend of rejoicing, reflection, and renewal January 17-19, 2020. We’ll again enjoy the beauty and hospitality of the Montreat Retreat and Conference Center in Montreat, North Carolina. Sharon Garlough Brown will guide us as we explore ways to live in authentic community with God, with ourselves, and with others. Discounted copies of her books will be available, email Cheryl to reserve a specific title. Room requests will be honored as space is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so sign up soon!

Grief Recovery Group Now Forming

We often think of grief as only the suffering that results from a death. But actually, grief is the normal and natural reaction to loss of any kind. It’s the conflicting feelings we experience when our familiar patterns change-for better or for worse. Thus, we grieve all sorts of things: the loss of a loved one, through death or divorce, the loss of a job, the loss of our health, for sure. But also, sometimes surprisingly, we grieve over “good things” like our children going off to college, or settling into retirement, or moving to a new home.

The Grief Recovery Method is an eight-week course which offers information and specific actions we can take to help work through those feelings and recover our sense of energy and spontaneity. The class will meet on Thursdays from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, beginning October 3. There is a $25 fee to cover the book and materials. Email Cheryl Kelley for details and to sign up.
