We will break ground on our new Sanctuary Plaza on Sunday, July 14! The renovations, made possible with a gracious gift from the Fowler family, will enable Grace to hold a vital place in the corridor between Brenau University and the Downtown Square, and the plaza will be a beautiful spot to linger, rest, and have wonderful conversations.
At the Summer Sunday Forum, Patrick O’Rouke, our Junior Warden, will present an updated demographic study for the Gainesville-Hall County region. He has worked to gather insights from the Chamber of Commerce and other sources that lay out the projections for growth and development in our community. The Sanctuary Plaza is the first of several projects planned as Grace Church looks toward celebrating its Bicentennial in 2028. Recognizing both its history and current community ministry, Grace Episcopal Church continues to explore how it can share in the ongoing work of Gainesville-Hall County’s Vision 2030 campaign.
So join us in the parish hall at 9:30 AM on Sunday, July 14 as we celebrate together!
Please join us from 9:00 – 9:30 AM on Sunday, July 14, in the Parish Hall for coffee and doughnuts to welcome our newest friends to Grace. This informal gathering, typically (but not always!) held on the second Sunday of every other month, gives each of us an opportunity to share a conversation or two with friends familiar to us and those we have not yet met. Come spend some time with us!
The parish office will be closed on Tuesday, July 16. The staff will be meeting to plan and calendar events for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Grace Church welcomes Meg McPeek as the new assistant director of Children of Grace preschool. Meg and her family are parishioners at Grace, and she has been a teacher at the preschool, sharing her enormous creative gifts with the children, parents, and wider community. Meg will work alongside Ansley Forrester, the director of COG, to help make our school a true beacon of welcome, learning, and fun for the hundreds of students who have shared in this ministry.
Jessica Voyles is our new ministry coordinator in the church office. She and her family have been long-time parishioners at Grace, sharing in many leadership and service roles through the years. Jess is extraordinarily gifted in seeing both the big picture and the small details and will bring her organizational skills and creativity as she helps coordinate the many details of day-to-day life at the parish.
Forward Day by Day devotional booklets for August, September, and October are available at the information station in the connector corridor.
