Children of Grace Preschool, more commonly known as COG, offers our preschool program to children ages 6 months thru 5 years. Our program operates Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. beginning in August and running through mid-to-late May. Children are allowed to attend two, three or five days per week.
Children of Grace’s curriculum offers opportunities for learning in a developmentally appropriate environment. Social and emotional development of the child is a major focus. We emphasize self-awareness, cooperative behavior, and self-confidence. Our program offers learning through free play, interactive story telling, theme based art projects that include both fine and gross motor skills, science experiments, music, outdoor play, manipulatives, and language skills. We know that in combination all of these activities work to nurture a love of learning.
COG has weekly themes for our Pre-Toddler thru 2s. Our 3s and Pre-K use Frog Street Curriculum. Frog Street is a comprehensive program designed to meet the needs of diverse learners while supporting 10 learning domains. Pre-K students have lessons which integrate literacy, math, science, social studies, social-emotional connections, STEAM, technology, assessment, and family engagement.

The school provides chapel time twice monthly for the Pre-K classes to experience stories from the Bible and prayers. The clergy of Grace Church assist in leading chapel. Many holidays are celebrated and the religious significance of specific holidays (i.e. Christmas and Easter) is included in the curriculum where appropriate. In addition, each class is taught a mealtime blessing that is used daily at snack and lunch.
Children are taught both religious and secular songs as well as introductions to rhythm and assorted band instruments. Movement is also incorporated during music time to encourage development of gross motor skills and elements of fine motor skills with music. All children enrolled in the Two’s classes and up participate in the Christmas and Spring Fling programs.
Children are engaged in art and science activities throughout the week.
Art: Preschoolers are introduced to elements of art including lines, colors, shapes, textures, and forms. Children can engage with a wide variety of materials. Art projects are used as part of weekly themed lessons and as centers during free time.
Science: We want to nurture a child’s natural sense of adventure and curiosity as they develop their understanding of the natural world. We introduce basic elements of scientific reasoning (questions, observations, problem solving). Science projects often include sensory activities and are used as part of weekly themed lessons and as centers.
iPads and Smart TVs are available to children in the three-year-old and Pre-K classes. Teachers incorporate these resources as reinforcements to learning happening in the classroom.
Pre-K classes participate in a variety of field trips throughout the year. Children are not allowed to attend field trips without a parent’s consent.
Birthdays are an exciting time for children and we welcome and encourage birthday celebrations. Parties need to take place at snack time or after lunch. Please talk with your child’s teacher when scheduling a time for such parties.
Holidays will be celebrated throughout the year and are an integral part of your child’s learning process. Each class has a room parent assigned who works directly with the classroom teacher to coordinate these parties. Parties are celebrated in two’s classes and up.

If there are certain days you must have, early registration is recommended. Please note the specific days you need in the notes section of your application. Openings are limited and enrollment is filled on a “first come, first serve” basis within the priority levels listed below:
At registration, children are placed into classrooms using the following age groups as a guideline:
Pre-Toddler: 6 months – 14 months
Toddler: 15 months – 23 months
Younger Two: 2 years – 2 years, 4 months
Middle Two: 2 years, 4 months – 2 years, 8 months
Older Two: 2 years, 8 months – 3 years
Younger Three: 3 years – 3 years, 4 months
Middle Three: 3 years, 4 months – 3 years, 8 months
Older Three: 3 years, 8 months – 4 years
Pre-K: 4 years – 5 years
Annual tuition is based on the number of days children attend and is paid on a 10-payment schedule. Annual tuition does not include summer sessions.
2 days: $2,300/annually (Tuesday & Thursday)
3 days: $2,600/annually (Monday, Wednesday & Friday)
4 days: $2,900/annually (PreK Tuesday – Friday)
5 days: $3,200/annually (Monday – Friday)
