From Sunday June 23 through Sunday June 30 nineteen of our youth and their leaders will be making pilgrimage in Scotland and the island of Iona. This pilgrimage is possible because of the entire parish committing to partner with our youth for the past eighteen months.
In a very real sense, the youth began this Pilgrimage on Shrove Tuesday 2018, and have continued the journey with each other ever since. The culmination of the journey is this pilgrimage to Scotland. But, the rich time together studying, playing, praying, and serving has covered all the seasons in the Church year and the school year. We’ve said hello to new friends and bid a sad farewell to well-beloved friends.
The youth have baked, built, and assisted in every step of the way. The funds raised have been divided equally among every pilgrim to help reduce overall costs. But, it still could not be happening without the incredible (and anonymous) generosity of individual parishioners who have underwritten many of the costs along with over twenty folks in the parish who purchased “shares” in the venture!
Shareholding is something new that we brought in this year. It underscores the fact that, although only nineteen of us are making the trip, all of us throughout the parish will be influenced by the experience.
So, hold us in your prayers!

Ginny will be blogging daily during the trip. Check back here for updates from Scotland!
