Holy Eucharist
Holy Eucharist for Easter Day will be offered in Spanish in the chapel at 8:15 AM. All are welcome!
A Festal Eucharist for Easter Day
A
Festal Eucharist will be held at 9:00 AM and again at 11:00 AM on
Sunday, April 21. Both services will be a joyful celebration of the
Resurrection featuring special brass, organ, and choral music!
Note: No incense at either service. No Children’s Chapel on Easter morning. A nursery will be available from 8:45 AM-12:15 PM for children age 4 and under.
Breakfast
A continental breakfast will be served in the parish hall between worship services. Come end your Lenten fast.
Flowering of the Cross
All parishioners are invited to bring flowers and greenery from their garden to help flower the cross. This traditional Easter morning activity symbolizes that an instrument of cruel death has become a sign of life and love by the power and grace of God.
Resurrection Egg Hunt
Children 5th grade and younger are invited to bring their Easter baskets and meet at the crow’s nest across the street on the Brenau lawn (weather permitting) to participate in an egg hunt that will begin immediately following the 11:00 AM service.
The parish office will be closed on Monday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23.
There will be no Wednesday meal or program on April 24. Enjoy this time with friends and family and plan to join us for our last three Wednesday evenings together of the academic year on May 1, 8, and 15.
All women of the church are invited to an outing on Saturday, April 27. Meet in the Grace Center parking lot at 11:00 AM. We’ll be visiting Kaya Vineyard and Winery for a tasting and lunch. Because we have made arrangements for drivers we do need a minimum of 10 people for the trip to happen. Please contact Cheryl Kelley on or before Monday, April 22 if you plan to attend!
I am both sad and excited to share with you that Liz Howington, who has served as Parish Secretary, has taken a full-time job. This will be her last week with us, and I am extraordinarily grateful for her dedication and compassion. Liz hit the ground running, with no experience working in a parish church – with all the complexities that holds! She has been a stalwart colleague here, tending to myriad details, and her attention has ensured that the entire scope of ministry and worship has gone smoothly. Please share your gratitude with Liz when you see her.
With Liz’s departure, I am grateful that Jessica Voyles is willing to serve as Parish Secretary in an interim capacity. Until the end of May, Jess will be on hand to help manage the details of the day-to-day operation of the office. She will bring her organizational skills and knowledge of the community to bear in making sure that all runs smoothly. She spent a good bit of this past week working alongside Liz and Reba, and I have no doubt that she will be an enormous help to the entire parish. When you see Jess, please thank her for her willingness to serve.
With Jess’s presence, Reba Page and I have time to discern next steps with the Parish Secretary position. It is a part-time position, so we will be looking to see who may be able to serve in this capacity in a permanent capacity.
