News for February 24 – March 2

New Class for Parents: Loving Your Kids on Purpose!

Join Callie and Kevin Flack as they lead a new class for parents based on Danny Silk’s Loving your Kids on Purpose. We’ll learn more together about how to bring the principles of the Kingdom of God into our strategies as parents, “so we can spend less time feeling anxious and frustrated and more time enjoying our children.” The nine-week class will meet in room 210 of the children’s wing, just down the hall from the nursery, beginning this Sunday, February 24.

Sunday Forum: The Spiritual Foundations of Civil Discourse

Our Sunday Forum conversation on civil discourse continues this Sunday, February 24. Fr. Stuart will have a dialogue with Dr. Don Broughton, a parishioner at Grace, who worked for Howard Thurman in developing formation opportunities for young people. We will hear some of Don’s experiences as we explore the importance of spiritual formation and Christian education.

Next Sunday, March 3, we will connect the pieces we have explored, from Thomas Keating’s reflections, to the Welcoming Practice with Cynthia Bourgeault and others, to Howard Thurman, and Don’s experiences. These are vital conversations for us to explore together as we come to understand the challenges we face in our society today. Come share in the space!

Friends of Music

If you would like to contribute to the annual Friends of Music fundraising campaign, please return your donation via mail, offering plate, or online by the end of February. Extra donation cards and envelopes may be found on the information table. When making an online contribution, choose check or credit card then select “Friends of Music” as the contribution type. The Friends of Music committee is thrilled with the success of our 2018-2019 programs and, with your support, looks forward to hosting a number of great concerts and services for the 2019-2020 program year.

2019 Grace Member Art Show

The deadline for Grace members to register entries in the art show is coming up on March 1. Information can be found on the online registration form. All Grace members are invited to participate in the show, which will open March 20 and run through May 3. This tradition is the way we at Grace share and celebrate the artist within each of us.
